Surya turns 32

Suryakumar Yadav is celebrating his 32nd birthday on Wednesday (September 14). With his flamboyant batting Surya has marked his presence in International cricket.


Surya rose to fame in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 when he started playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In 2018, Surya went to Mumbai Indians who won back to back IPL titles in 2019 and 2020. Riding on a good show Surya made his debut for India in the T20 format.

In the year 2015, while playing for KKR, Surya batted amazingly well against Mumbai. This batsman scored an unbeaten 46 against MI.

Surya opened his innings with a six as he went on to score 46 off 20 which was loaded with one four and 5 sixes. This was the 2nd time a batter had hit so many sixes without scoring a fifty.

In IPL 2020, Surya, playing for Mumbai Indians, shone with the bat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and led his team to victory.

Surya became the fifth batsman in T20 cricket from India to score a century. Surya played an innings of 117 runs which was decorated with 14 fours and 6 sixes.
