India and New Zealand will cross swords in a three-match ODI series, starting January 17.

Both teams will be competing in their second ODI series of 2023.

India whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 while New Zealand defeated Pakistan 2-1.

KL Rahul and Axar Patel will miss the series against the Black Caps due to 'family commitments'.

Ishan Kishan is likely to replace Rahul in the playing XI.

The left-handed batter will bat in the middle order, probably at No.5.

KS Bharat is also in the squad as a wicketkeeper-batter option but Kishan is likely to get the nod.

Washington Sundar or Shahbaz Ahmed will replace Axar Patel in the playing XI.

Can Tim Southee surpass legendary Anil Kumble on this list in ODIs?
