The former Inter Milan striker followed it up with two assists as Turkey won 3-2.

Erstwhile Czechoslovakia’s Vaclav Masek scored on his FIFA World Cup debut 16 seconds after kick-off vs Mexico in 1962.

The side eventually lost the match 3-1 against Mexico but managed to reach the final, where they lost to Brazil.

Ernst Lehner was Germany’s hero in their third-place playoff match against Austria in 1934.

The then 22-year-old scored two goals to lead his team to a 3-2 victory.

Canada's Alphonso Davies scored the fastest goal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

He took just 70 seconds vs Croatia during his team's second group match where they lost 4-1.
