FIFA World Cup 2022 road to semi-finals: Croatia

Croatia knocked Brazil out of the World Cup, beating the five-time champions 4-2 in a penalty shootout to reach the semifinals for the second straight time.

Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic saved a penalty attempt by Rodrygo and Marquinhos later hit the post.

Let's take a look at Croatia's road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals.

Croatia's first match in the group stage was against Morocco. It ended in a goalless draw. 

Croatia made a strong comeback against Canada to win the match 4-1 in their second game of the tournament.

After defeating Canada in a must-win game, Croatia faced a strong Belgium side, and the game ended in a goalless draw. 

Croatia faced Japan in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup. With scores tied at 1-1 in regulation and extra time, Croatia prevailed 3-1 on penalties. 

Croatia defeated Brazil 4-2 on penalties in the quarter-final and will now face Argentina in the semis.
