Kylian Mbappe's hat-trick against Argentina in the final for France was not enough to win them the trophy.

But Mbappe secured a fabulous record after recording a gutsy hat-trick.

Mbappe became the youngest player to score 10 World Cup goals on the way to dragging France level with Argentina in the final.

Mbappe is the youngest player to reach double figures at the finals – aged 23 years and 363 days.

Mbappe surpassed Gerd Muller's record, who reached the milestone at the age of 24 years and 226 days.

The Paris Saint-Germain star also became the first player to score four times in a World Cup final, having scored a goal in the 2018 final against Croatia.

Overall, Mbappe has scored 12 goals in the FIFA World Cup.

At just the age of 23, Mbappe has booked his seat amongst the pantheons of greats in the World Cup.
