Not only this, Messi scored his 12th goal in the history of FIFA World Cup in the final and made a record in his name.

With 12 goals, Messi has equalled Brazilian legend Pele's record of 12 World Cup goals.

Messi's magic continued throughout the World Cup and in this edition he scored his seven goals. He won the Golden Ball after a brilliant final win in penalties over France.
